Too Much Tech

Can there be too much of a good thing? I think yes. I once scoffed a dozen Yorkie’s (sick for the next day) and another time, when drunk, made the desperate mistake of downing three packets of salt and vinegar McCoy’s. I then tried to take in the beautiful smell of McCoys through my nostrils and it felt like I had instantly pickled my brain–

I’ve always been more of a food lover than a tech-lover. Gadgets aren’t really something I know much about. I know what a mobile-phone is, but I wouldn’t know what a Blackberry was if it smacked me in the face (I am told). Some people who know about gadgets, much more than me, much more than you probably (unless you are a serious geek), are Enigin. They are, in fact, smitten with the things, and at the following link you will find a whole post about a show in London that Enigin went to show their faces.

I like the fact that Enigin tell us where they are going. But I wonder how dangerous this could be for them–I mean, picture the scene: a slew of eco-geeks emailing one another with pure HTML and saying : “Enigin are going to be at that show, let’s mob them!” (Which might look like f0987rghdjkf --s--sdndj, I suppose: terrifying!)

OK, so maybe I don’t know much about eco-geeks (because someone just instructed me that even they wouldn’t use pure HTML), but one thing I do know is that as a machine, Enigin have not only their screws in the right place, but a pretty nifty engine. And for Enigin it’s more than just technology. It’s about how technology can be both fantastic and also how we can make it run more efficiently, affecting the atmosphere and our financial security less.
