Rejoice!

There are some things in this life that can make a dull day brilliant; Cosmetic doctors in London are one, if you like that sort of thing. Londoners especially need their day being made brilliant, what with train strikes and general all-consuming busy-ness. Stories, in particular, is what I am talking about. Stories that make you forget about all the bad things and allow your mind to focus on the great things, the things that shouldn’t happen but somehow do. Dreams that really do become reality.

One such magical tale can be seen at the following link.

A horse, in this case. And not just any horse, no–But a horse bought in a lay-by. A horse with nothing going for it, you could say.

And he’s set to race the Grand National!

I know, I know, it almost brought a tear to my eye as well.

This is what is great about the BBC. As well as bringing us all the informative stories and important news from around the world, they bring us the stories of everyday folk (and everyday horses, of course). Where would we be without stories like this?

The best part of this horse story is that it is set to become a Hollywood film. OK, I am jumping the gun a bit. It may not, but it has been bought by a film company and so there’s a chance it could happen. And I hope it does happen, because this is the kind of thing that we all need. A bit of positivity in a world such as ours is magic for the soul.
