The Wizard of Oz is great for young and old

The Wizard of Oz is one of the best musicals I have ever seen. As a child I used to love watching the movie. See the tornado, house get lifted into the air and land in Oz, and being scared of the Wicked Witch. She should just sell house and get out of there! Now as an adult there is no greater joy then taking my children to see the musical. When going to see a musical for the first time the children have no idea what to expect. They are filled with anticipation for what is going to happen and all of the wonderful things they will see. The Wizard of Oz totally delivers.

First you are transported to the farm and see Dorothy with Toto. You believe that you are really there. You really do grow a great love for Dorothy very quickly. As the musical continues and you are eventually taken to Munchkin Land you are filled with such delight. Children young and old can’t help but smile from ear to ear as they watch the singing and the dancing. The colors on the stage are so bright and mesmerizing. When you first meet the Wicked Witch you are fearful. She is very convincing as being not very nice or inviting.

As the musical continues you feel as though you don’t want to leave your seat for fear of missing something wonderful. The sets are breathtaking, the costumes amazing, and the characters so convincing. You really do feel as though you are in Oz. This is a musical that you can go and see again and again and always see something new that you did not see before. There is so much to see that it is hard to catch it all at one time. You will want to see it repeatedly because it is a wonderful musical.
